Our tax dollars should be funding our public services. We deserve elected officials who prioritize balanced budgets, transparency, and accountability.
This page deals with issues of financial transparency & the SaskParty. They are the party that currently forms government, and have for the past 17 years. As an organization that values transparency and financial accountability, we assure our members that we will remain equally critical of whichever party forms government, as we have a core believe that our tax dollars be handled with the level of care and diligence that we deserve.
- Only one provincial budget has been balanced in the past nine years.
- Provincial debt has more than tripled from $10.2 billion dollars in 2007 to $31.56 billion dollars in 2024.
- Taxpayer money has paid for cabinet minsters to charter private, in-province flights and private car service tours of European cities.
- Government spending at motels owned by a SaskParty MLA (elected in 2020) has increased from $1,309 between 2018-2020 to $731,194 between 2021-2024.
- Government awards contracts to SaskParty MLA's family business.
Despite economic growth and increased taxation, our provincial debt has increased at an alarming rate and Saskatchewan taxpayers are on the hook for these bills.
